Nurse Care
Nurse Care is a network of experts from Charles Nechtem Associates, a program administrator for nurse assistance. Licensed psychologists, social workers, alcohol and drug counselors and marriage and family therapists have the experience and connections to give hospital-based nursing colleagues a hand with whatever they need. The service is completely free, confidential and available 24/7 at (800) 480-1234. In 2022, this helpline supported 17,159 colleagues.
Optum Wellbeing resources
Optum can connect HCA Healthcare colleagues and household members with a therapist for five free counseling sessions per topic—available in person, online or through text via the Talkspace app. It is confidential and available 24/7 at no additional cost. Colleagues and their family members can call to discuss topics including couples’ counseling or divorce, feelings of burnout, grief and loss, drug or alcohol use, depression and anxiety and financial issues.
Other wellbeing and emotional support resources
All of our colleagues contribute to our purpose of caring for our communities through providing care like family. However, in the face of demanding circumstances, the chances of burnout become exponentially higher. In 2020, HCA Healthcare established the online Wellbeing Hub to encourage and support colleague well-being. The Hub is a one-stop-shop for our colleagues to learn more and access available resources to support their and their family’s well-being, including, but not limited to:
- Diversity, equity and inclusion
- Emotional well-being
- Family and household (including resources for center-based and in-home child care)
- Finances
- Legal assistance
- Physical and overall health
- Time away from work
