Supporting HCA Healthcare nurses
Nurses are the cornerstone of our mission to care for and improve human life, driving the exceptional quality that defines our patient experience.
The heart of patient care
We recognize the vital role nurses play in creating healthier tomorrows for our patients.
Whether our nurses are providing care at the bedside, training their colleagues in a classroom, working with patients in a virtual care setting or in any number of other roles, the impact of their dedication and commitment to care drives our organization forward.
It’s an exciting time to be a nurse at HCA Healthcare.

Nurse Forward: Advancing the cause of our nurses and care teams
Nurses are the foundation of HCA Healthcare, and our goal is to advance and elevate nurses so they can advance and elevate care. To support this, our nursing strategy is guided by four pillars:
Caring for HCA Healthcare nurses
Nurse Care is a program managed by Optum designed to provide care, compassion, comfort and support to HCA Healthcare nurses. Colleagues who contact Nurse Care will speak with master’s-level specialists specifically trained in the unique needs of healthcare workers. The service is completely free, confidential and available 24/7 to hospital-based nurses.
Awards and recognition
HCA Healthcare and our affiliated facilities are continually recognized for our commitment to excellence. We have also established our own internal awards to celebrate our colleagues’ commitment to patients, communities and each other.
Magnet Recognition Program® and Pathway to Excellence® Program
Awarded through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Magnet and Pathway to Excellence programs identify healthcare organizations with exceptional professional practice environments. The prestigious Magnet distinction recognizes hospitals providing high-quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice, while the Pathway to Excellence program recognizes the work of hospitals to create a positive environment where nurses can flourish. As of 2026, HCA Healthcare’s network included 16 Magnet® Designations covering 21 facilities, and 25 Pathways® designations covering 26 facilities.
