Locally based behavioral health company Peregrine Health has secured $5 million in funding.
The funding round was led by BIP Ventures, Martin Ventures and Chapman Capital. The funds will be used for new technology-driven insights for the company, which focuses on federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics, according to a press release.
Peregrine Health was formed in 2023 when Nashville-based mental health treatment organizations Integrative Life Network and Integrated Life Network merged. At the time, Peregrine also announced the completion of a $7 million funding round.
"This funding validates the importance of what we're building at Peregrine Health,” said founder and CEO Ryan Chapman.
“Behavioral health care is at a critical crossroads, and our comprehensive solution gives clinics the tools they need to not just meet demand but to exceed it. We're helping clinics move beyond filling staffing gaps to creating programs that deliver better outcomes for patients and providers alike."
Vanderbilt sets heart transplant record
The Vanderbilt Transplant Center in 2024 broke a world record for heart transplants.
The Center performed 174 total transplants, including 10 on children, which represents a 36 percent increase compared to the figure of 2023. According to VUMC News, the organization accepts organs that other centers may decline and utilizes advanced organ preservation technologies. The center also has a team that flies to recover organs.
“This milestone reflects the extraordinary skill of our entire transplant team and the seamless collaboration across every aspect of patient care,” said Bret Alvis, associate professor of anesthesiology and interim medical director of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center Surgical Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
“It’s truly exciting to see how our combined efforts continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in heart transplantation.”
