Since releasing its year-end earnings for 2023, HCA Healthcare Inc. has been shaking up its C-suite.

On Tuesday, the company announced Michael McAlevey was promoted to executive vice president, chief legal and administrative officer, effective April 1. He previously served as senior vice president and chief legal officer.

McAlevey will oversee a newly consolidated organization that will manage enterprise risk and external affairs, according to an HCA news release. He will also take over the responsibility for marketing and corporate affairs, government relations, development, ethics and compliance along with information protection and security. He joined HCA in 2022 from General Electric Co.

Over the past month, HCA has made the following changes to its leadership, all but one of which are effective April 1.

And in October 2022, Jon Foster was named executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“These changes are part of our ongoing endeavor to streamline efforts and align organizationally around key strategic initiatives,” said Hazen in the release. “We will continue to maintain an efficient and transparent organizational process underneath this new structure that allows us to conduct the company’s business consistent with our past practices.”

HCA (NYSE: HCA) is Nashville’s largest publicly traded company by revenue, according to Business Journal research, with 27,694 employees locally in 2023. The hospital system operates 186 hospitals and 2,400 ambulatory sites of care across 20 states and the United Kingdom.
