When you love what you do,
and what you do is love,
it shows

Smart. Kind. Brave.

Our people inspire us.

Their strength lifts others up. Their passion gives others hope. Their love brings others joy. Because when patients are your highest priority...when you believe in something bigger than yourself...it shows.

Determined. Devoted. Passionate.

United in our commitment to the care and improvement of human life.

Every day, our colleagues show up with compassion and purpose to bring hope, strength and healing to the patients we serve throughout our Southern California facilities. At Los Robles Health System, Riverside Community Hospital and West Hills Hospital & Medical Center, we support these amazing caregivers through robust training and educational opportunities as well as resources to support their well-being.

HCA Healthcare has invested significantly in the recruitment, training and support for our frontline healthcare workers.

Patient care is always a priority; so is caring for our colleagues. Addressing labor challenges is just one way we do that. In 2022, our three Southern California facilities: Los Robles Health System, Riverside Community Hospital, and West Hills Hospital & Medical Center collectively hired 639 registered nurses and 767 additional care team members. We also have more than 300 medical residents and fellows across nine specialties to provide a pipeline of qualified physicians to serve the growing healthcare needs of Southern California.

639 registered nurses plus 767 care team members equals 1,406 people hired in 2022

HCA Healthcare is the majority owner of the Galen College of Nursing, one of the largest academic practice partnerships in the country. Through Galen College, we’re expanding opportunities for incoming and current nurses, with tuition assistance and grants. In addition, our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN)program provides intensive training for our nursing students, ensuring their development as competent and collaborative care partners.

Resourceful. Prepared. Committed.

We’re continually innovating and identifying new ways to support caregivers and our community.

We’ve raised wages for patient care staff.

In 2022, we were proud to invest more than $721 million in colleague salaries, wages and benefits. This investment is just one of our efforts to address workforce needs as we aim to attract and retain excellent hospital colleagues who carry out our mission of caring for and improving human life.

We’re helping develop tomorrow’s world-class physicians.

HCA Healthcare is a leading sponsor of graduate medical education (GME) programs. Our scale helps attract top physicians from across the country and benefits the areas our GME programs serve. In Southern California alone, our more than 300 medical residents and fellows across nine specialties are gaining valuable skills now to provide a pipeline of qualified physicians to meet our region’s future healthcare needs.

We take care of our patients. And each other.

At HCA Healthcare, we take care of our own. The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund is a colleague-run, colleague-supported 501(c)(3) charity that helps colleagues and their immediate families when faced with financial hardship. Since its inception in 2005, our Hope Fund has assisted more than 47,000 colleagues with $83 million in emergency funds to overcome life’s most unexpected challenges.

We believe healthier communities lead to healthier tomorrows for all.

Our colleagues are deeply committed to learning, serving and leading in their communities. Covering a 100-mile footprint, our three Southern California hospitals provide a full scope of acute and specialty services, including a Level I and II trauma center, comprehensive stroke and chest pain/heart attack programs and the Grossman Burn Center.

Staying true to our mission, we’re pleased that our facilities were able to provide charity care, uninsured discounts and other uncompensated care at an estimated cost of more than $36 million last year, underscoring our commitment to help address healthcare inequity.

When you have an unwavering commitment to your community, it shows. In our HCA Healthcare Far West Division 2022 Community Impact Report, we reflect on the positive impact we created for those we are privileged to serve and with whom we collaborate.
