We show up

Smart. Kind. Brave.

Our people inspire us.

As a part of HCA Healthcare, We Show Up® for our patients, for our communities and for each other — in good times and in challenging moments.

At Mission Health, we strive to bring hope, strength and healing to the patients we serve and create healthier tomorrows for our communities through volunteering, making charitable donations and partnering with nonprofit organizations. We support our colleagues with resources, training and development programs and believe that we are stronger together — driven by our collective mission:

Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

Determined. Devoted. Passionate.

HCA Healthcare and Mission Health are united in our commitment to the care and improvement of human life.

Every day, our colleagues show up with compassion and purpose to bring hope, strength and healing to the patients we serve. We support these amazing caregivers through robust training and education opportunities as well as resources to support their well-being.

We all just put our game faces on

Before the rain of Hurricane Helene began, Tami arrived at the hospital with a packed bag — planning to work through the weather and spend the night

You're seeing all of these staff members that are coming in just to truly save the day

Taylor was one of hundreds of dedicated colleagues that served our patients in the midst of Hurricane Helene

I’m 100 years old, I’m a veteran, and I was in an automobile accident.

The service, the compassion of the nurses and the workers there is outstanding.

“I have a heart for battling cancer.”

I want my community to know that when they come to Mission Health for care, they get me in their corner.

Mission Health is dedicated to our patients and committed to our employees. Our people impress us every day.

HCA Healthcare has invested significantly in the recruitment and training of nurses while also expanding care teams to provide support to our nurses.

Patient care is always a priority; so is caring for our colleagues. Addressing labor challenges is just one way we do that. Since January 2020, HCA Healthcare has opened eight new Galen College of Nursing campuses, including one right here in Asheville to specifically address the nursing shortage in Western North Carolina. In addition, Mission Health has funded an instructor position at three local nursing schools.

Resourceful. Prepared. Committed.

We’re continually innovating and identifying new ways to support colleagues and our community.

Recognized as a great place to work

Mission Hospital has been recognized as one of Forbes best hospitals to work for in North Carolina. Colleagues were surveyed on a number of topics, including: working conditions, compensation, diversity, potential for advancement and more. Mission Hospital colleagues were also asked if they would recommend Mission Hospital to others. As western North Carolina’s largest employer, Mission Health is committed to being an anchor institution in our community and a place people not only choose for excellent healthcare, but for a rewarding career.

Supporting the next generation of doctors and nurses.

HCA Healthcare is the nation’s largest sponsor of residency and fellowship programs. In Asheville, we have more than 140 residents and fellows across 12 specialties to meet the growing needs of Western North Carolina.

We take care of our patients. And each other.

At HCA Healthcare, we take care of our own. The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund is a colleague-run, colleague-supported 501(c)(3) charity that helps colleagues and their immediate families when faced with financial hardship. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the Hope Fund provided more than $1 million dollars of support to Mission Health Colleagues right here in North Carolina.

When the Colonial Pipeline shutdown impacted our community, we kept healthcare moving.

We had a plan to keep caring for and transporting patients when local gas stations ran out of gas. Our fleet of fuel trucks supplied critical transportation services like CarePartners home health nurses.
