For decades, the Information Technology Group (ITG) at HCA Healthcare has served as a technology pioneer on a scale that has resulted in remarkable change for the organization and the healthcare industry at large. Our more than 6,200 ITG colleagues* provide innovative technology solutions, services and support across the HCA Healthcare enterprise to advance and enhance healthcare, enabling our physicians, nurses, clinicians and colleagues to provide high-quality, patient-focused care. Developing future leaders
Emerging Leaders Program
This cohort-based development program prepares high-potential colleagues for senior leadership roles within ITG and HCA Healthcare. Participants in the intensive 18-month manager and peer-nominated program are directors, managers or similar level positions. In ITG chief information officer (CIO) ranks, 13 are Emerging Leader Program graduates.
Aspiring Managers
This nine-month annual program prepares ITG staff-level colleagues for management positions though a series of meaningful initiatives and the HCA Healthcare Leadership Institute’s Leadership Essentials custom curriculum.
Technical Residency Program
Providing opportunity to top talent from local technical schools, candidates of this full-time, six-month program gain real-world experience within the field of information technology while also gaining a strong understanding of the culture and vision of ITG.
IT Director Development Program
A new program for 2023, this nine-month, staff level-focused program dives deep into must-have knowledge of managing IT and associated efforts for an HCA Healthcare hospital or facility location.
Pathways Internship Program
For those with an interest in IT planning and development, project management, business analysis and operations, process improvement, programming, web design, social media, security and testing, the Pathways Internship program for rising college seniors or first-year master’s students provides unique experience and executive mentorship. This paid summer program is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
IT Healthcare Connection
This is a meaningful and innovative healthcare immersion program held in Nashville, Tennessee, for IT colleagues. The week-long program hosted at local hospital locations by executive leaders and clinicians connects technologists to the hospital bedside. Whether on a patient unit or in the operating room, the program is one of the most sought after at HCA Healthcare and illustrates the impact IT has on patient care.
Enhancing professional growth
Through internal and external best-in-class training and certification programs, ITG colleagues have rich opportunities to enhance their professional growth by newly acquiring or recertifying nationally recognized technical certifications and/or subject-specific formal and online offerings.
ITG Tech Academy
This comprehensive workforce development program provides holistic training opportunities that include self-guided learning paths and certification for some of the most sought after skills in the information technology space. Offerings include architecture, engineering and cloud learning paths as well as automation, platform, security, and product and project management certifications.

Supporting each other and our communities
Caregiving is in our DNA, so it’s only natural that our colleagues are involved in caring for our local communities. ITG corporate colleagues receive 24 hours each calendar year (12 for part-time colleagues) to volunteer at local agencies during regular business hours. In 2022, more than 2,300 ITG colleagues logged over 1,300 volunteer hours to support 120 Nashville-based nonprofits during our annual Community Days: A Month of Service campaign.

Nashville Technology Council
ITG is proud to support the Nashville Technology Council (NTC). Our ongoing collaboration advances the diverse technology ecosystem in Nashville by connecting members; attracting, growing and retaining tech talent; and providing opportunities to reinvest in the community. At the annual independent and peer-voted NTC Awards, ITG colleagues have been recognized in the categories of Cybersecurity Leader of the Year, Diversity Equity and Inclusion Leader of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Data Scientist of the Year, Emerging Leader of the Year, CTO of the Year and Software Developer of the Year.
