Team environment As a way of encouraging staff member involvement at all levels, we take a team approach to our auditing. You will see firsthand how effective this approach can be in today's business world.
Experience Many financial professionals today begin their career by obtaining audit experience. Our department offers tremendous opportunity in a number of areas. An Internal Audit professional will learn many aspects of the company. Depending on the audit team and assignments, an internal auditor can gain experience in the areas of finance, operations, information systems, regulatory compliance and much more.
Mentoring Internal Audit recognizes the importance and value of mentoring. All department employees are assigned an experienced staff member as a mentor. Mentors are a combination teacher/coach/ confidant/counselor.
Variety You will work on a variety of assignments with a number of different supervisors and staff. This will provide you exposure to varying experience levels and leadership styles. Also, rest assured, not every audit assignment will be the same. You will learn and grow as you are exposed to different hospitals, projects and audit teams.
Technology As with all of our professionals, you will be given the tools and training you need to do your job. This includes utilizing one of the latest applications in automated work paper technology.
Evaluation/feedback Upon completion of each audit assignment, you will receive valuable feedback from your supervisor. Performance evaluations are designed to help you develop and grow as a professional.
Travel Most of your audit experience will take place in Nashville. When you do travel, the majority of our hospitals are located in or near major U.S. cities. Our travel schedules are structured to have you and your teammates leave on Monday morning and return by Friday afternoon. We get you home in time to enjoy your weekends as you wish. However, if you enjoyed your audit destination, you may wish to take advantage of cost-savings opportunities to stay the weekend.
Professional certification exam prep Approximately 65-70 percent of our professionals are certified in various financial, audit and information system areas. To help you meet your professional goals, CPA and other certification exam review materials will be made available to you for self-study.
Training Your first week will consist of classroom training and self-study. This training will include an overview of upcoming job responsibilities, as well as software applications. As you begin to work on audit assignments, one-on-one training from our experienced staff will get you well on your way.
