Medical lab technicians

Medical laboratory technologists and medical laboratory technicians collect samples and perform tests to analyze body fluids, tissue and other substances, helping physicians to diagnose and monitor patient care. Employment opportunities for medical laboratory technologists and technicians are projected to grow 22 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Growth in the aging population will lead to a greater need to diagnose medical conditions through laboratory procedures.

At HCA, the medical laboratory technician serves as a member of team leadership and is considered a technical professional within the organization. This critical role helps us better serve our patients and meet our commitment to the care and improvement of human life.
