The results of a survey of more than 800 HCA Healthcare nurses identified reducing the time spent documenting care as a key need for advancing nursing practice in our hospitals. After a complete rebuild of nursing documentation in our electronic health records, our evidence-based clinical documentation system saves 30 minutes to two hours on documentation per shift. That is 30 minutes previously spent on an administrative task that can now be spent directly with patients.
