At HCA Healthcare, our responsibility is to the health and well-being of our patients and our colleagues.
Creating healthy communities includes maintaining a healthy environment. As stewards of the environment, we work to protect and preserve natural resources by greening hospital practices, promoting conservation and exercising environmentally conscious purchasing.
We continually mitigate our waste impact through extensive recycling initiatives, including thousands of pounds of rechargeable batteries and cardboard, as well as increased composting, duplex printing, pharmaceutical waste disposal, and mercury and polystyrene reduction.
We are continually employing greener alternatives, including purchasing reusable and reprocessed single-use devices, setting minimum purchasing standards and improving the availability of information regarding green product attributes.
Construction and Renovation
We are committed to alternative energy sources, sustainable building material choices, construction and demolition waste recycling, and our environmental building scorecards. We are also proud to have several Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified facilities.
Energy and Water
Our facilities continuously monitor energy performance and improve energy efficiency by employing alternative energy sources, sustainable water usage and rigorous efficiency standards.
